While I don’t encourage drug use, I do think it’s important to try to make sure that if you’re going to do it anyway, you’re at least safe about it. This page is here to give some drug safety and harm reduction information, as well as to help you find resources that you can use for yourself or loved ones.

Basic Information
Fentanyl
Type: Opioid
Effects:
Euphoria, relaxation, pain relief, sedation, rushing sensations, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, slowed breathing, inability to urinate, confusion, dizziness
Tips:
– Stay hydrated during use
– Prepare for the post high blues
– Fentanyl is powerful; start small when using and always have Narcan on hand
– Never use alone or with someone who will be incapacitated during your use
– Know the signs of an overdose
Avoid Mixing With:
– Cocaine
– Other opioids
– Stimulants
– Alcohol (Mixing with alcohol can be deadly)
GHB
Type: Central Nervous System Depressant
Effects:
Relaxation, sociability, high libido. Higher doses can cause seizures/loss of consciousness (known as being G-d out). Since it is an order list, colorless liquid, GHB is often used as a date rape drug – always watch your drink!
Tips:
– Never use alone and lay down if you feel dizzy or sick, so you don’t fall and get hurt
– Dilute with water or juice to avoid chemical burns and shake before drinking
– Do not store GHB in plastic
– Start small with a tester dose
– Avoid using with people you don’t know
Avoid Mixing With:
– Benzos
– Opioids
– Alcohol
– Other depressants
Cocaine
Type: Stimulant
Effects:
Confidence, alertness, euphoria, sociability (typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes)
Tips:
– Cocaine can strain the heart and blood vessels; avoid strenuous activity while using
– Remain hydrated while using
– Prepare for the come-down so you don’t find yourself compulsively redoing
– Use saline spray before during an after snorting to reduce damage nasal passages
– To reduce the risk of spreading diseases don’t share snorting devices
Avoid Mixing With:
– Alcohol (very dangerous!)
– Benzos
– Opioids
– Other stimulants
2C-B
Type: Psychedelic
Effects:
Perceptual changes, rushing, high, visual, distortions, calm, headspace, nausea, trembling, or chills
Tips:
– Stay hydrated during use
– Use precise dosing to determine a dose; never try to guesstimate
– The high lasts about 5 to 8 hours
– Snorting 2C-B is notoriously painful; it’s recommended to ingest orally or anally (boofing)
– Set and setting are important; make sure you’re in a safe environment with people you trust
Ketamine
Type: Dissociative Anesthetic
Effects:
Trance-like floaty feelings, hallucinogenic or disassociative effects, out of body experiences
Tips:
– Avoid using alone! Have friends around who can help if you fall
– Remain seated/lying down when taking large doses so you don’t fall
– Hydrate prior to large doses
– Avoid large doses in public settings; entering a k-hole in public can be scary
Avoid Mixing With:
– Large amounts of alcohol
– GHB
– Benzos
– Opioids
Have discussions prior with any potential sexual partners
LSD
Type: Psychedelic
Effects:
Visual distortions, changing your perception of self or environment, emotional sensitivity, confusion, introspection
Tips:
– LSD trips can last 8 to 12 hours, often broken up into chunks that feel like “chapters”
– LSD is potent; start small
– “Set” and “setting” are important; a good mental state and safe physical environment helps ensure a good trip
– Wait at least three hours before redoing so you don’t trip too hard
Magic Mushrooms
Type: Psychedelic
Effects:
Visual distortions, changes of perception of self/environment, spiritual encounters, contact with “entities”
Tips:
– Check your product; ingesting poisonous mushrooms is very dangerous
– Eating a moderate meal one to two hours beforehand can prevent nausea
– Wait 1.5 hours before redosing
– Set and setting are important; make sure you’re in a safe environment and prepared for the come down
– Try using with friends and have honest conversations about your intentions/plans
MDMA
Type: Entacogen
(AKA Ecstasy or Molly)
Effects:
Enhanced tactile sensation, stimulation, euphoria, sense of well-being, increased sociability, increased blood pressure, increased body, temp, and heart rate, dehydration/overheating, restlessness/insomnia, eye twitching
Tips:
– Stay hydrated
– Prepare for post high blues
– Watch out for insomnia
– Don’t redose until 90 minutes after your first dose
Avoid Mixing With:
– Cocaine
– Opioids
– Other stimulants
– SSRIs
– Alcohol
People taking SSRIs should avoid MDMA as it can cause serotonin syndrome
Poppers
Type: Akyl Nitrates
Effects:
Rushing sensation, elevated heart rate, muscle, relaxation, headaches, dizziness, spinning feeling
Tips:
– Never swallow the liquid inside poppers; if this happens, contact 911 or poison control
– Contact with the liquid inside can cause rashes or skin irritation
– Poppers are very flammable
– Waft towards nose, rather than placing directly under the nostrils
Avoid Mixing With:
– Viagra
– Stimulants
– Blood Pressure Medication
Mixing with Viagra can be deadly
